Reflection: Free Project

As initially i was planning to make a podcast video based on short-film on the same topic i wrote the story on. As in my opinion i could have added more energy and feelings for the audience to relate through the video as the topic itself is about feeling. So to convey the message properly the feeling and emotions are very much required, which in my opinion could have been more effectively added by making a video and acting in them. Although i tried my best to put life in the writing but i still think there is a lot of room for improvement. Personally, i am not that happy with my last project but still keeping in mind that i have had some delay due to health issues , i think i tried my best for the best possible outcome and i am satisfied with the efforts i put in.

Reflection: Creative Writing

Writing a story was like a dream coming true for me. I always had plans to write a story but due to my procrastination habit and lack of consistency i never was able to write one. Finally, for the project when i got to know we have to write a story i was very happy. This project did help me a lot to improve my writing skills, especially on an academic level with proper research. The story i wrote did motivated me a lot to start writing some more fictional stories based on or related to true events happening so i can make content relatable for the audience and to make sure there is some sort of awareness or improvement in society about the social and political affairs now a days through my writings.

Reflection: Urban Landscape

Being a person who never had an experience of professional photography. To be fairly honest, Although, being a media student for a long time this project was the first time I actually used a DSLR camera to click a photo. The experience was great and fantastic. I learned to control and change simple but different settings of the camera according to the surrounding environment. Well at least i can do basic photography with a DSLR and can capture some amazing clicks.

Reflection: Biteable Video

While making the biteable video, in the beginning i had some doubts that how will i describe and explain my skills as a professional. But, with the help of tutor and after using some technical terms to describe the particular set of skills i have, i was very much satisfied with the result. Although, i know there is a lot that can be added but as i am still learning a lot, Thus there will be a lot to add later on while i will be stepping in my professional life.

Free Project: Website Finalising

Image
To upload the final flipbook embedded code on my website, i first selected Pages and Menu option and added a blank page on to my gallery. I named it as the title of my book. Then i selected Add elements option, embedded code and selected embedded HTML as this is the format I've my flipbook embedded code in. Then i pasted the copied link in it and pressed apply. Now i will adjust the size and add some introduction and title to the topic to make it look more attractive and pleasing for the viewer. This is the final look of the project on website.

Free Project: Flipbook making

Image
As my tutor informed me about some of the limitations flipbook has, therefore i will use some other book making app. Although, its also called Flipbookpdf but the developers are different. So, to make the flipbook the document was needed to be in pdf format. So, first i will change the word into pdf by using IlovePDF website again. After converting it, i downloaded and saved it into my PC to make a flipbook of it. To make the flipbook i went on this website and choose the downloaded document of pdf. Then i clicked on convert now to let the process begin. After it being converted, i downloaded the HTML version of it. The windows took me to a new page for download confirmation, where there was this embedded code option which i selected. After which i copied the embedded code, and saved it for uploading it on my website.

Free Project: Creative Writing Progress

Image
I started my story with the same process as before by making a graph of ideas by making bullet points on a paper. Then i started writing the story by taking help with the little bit of research i did. As i was planning to make a story of  no more than 7 to 8 pages this time therefor it was easy to write the whole story in one go. I ended writing the story and then added pictures and cover page just like before. The pictures i selected was non-copyright ones. After adding the pictures i re checked the whole story for grammatical or spelling errors. After finalising everything i saved the document. Next step is to make a flipbook of it.

Flipbook Cover Page Creation: Creative Writing

Image
For my creative Writing book, i needed a front cover page with title of the book on it. For that i used adobe photoshop. For the cover page photo i used an application which provides non copyright photos and downloaded that photo. First i selected the size of the book which is word document default size A4. Then after choosing the photo which i wanted for the cover page, I added the title of the book and the writer name which is my name. Then i changed the font and size of the text according to my choice. After finalising everything and running quality checks on picture. This is what cover page looks like.

Free Project: Research

For the free project as i am doing a short-story on Fear therefore, i started doing research for the short-stories related to this theme or genre. While researching i found a short story to inspire people to overcome fear and anxiety. This short story was named "Dope on a Rope". To be honest, the name itself was so amazing that it attracted me to read the story. It was a short moral based story published on the website of Notsalmon. This website has over 1.5M of fan reach. Overall the story was amazing and gave me such a great idea of adding the element of curiosity and hope in my story which was added in this story amazingly. But one thing which was lacking, about which some of the readers also commented was the context missing of the story. If only the writer could have added minor details about who the king was and what kind of crime the criminal has committed. This makes the reader go in to the depths of the story and representation and moral of the story can also be enha

Creative Writing: Flipbook Creation

Image
To make a flipbook of the word document i went to flipbook app, i signed in for a free trial for temporary access.   So to make a flipbook a PDF document is required. To change my word document into pdf i searched word to pdf converter on google. Then i went on a website named i love pdf . I selected my word document, converted it into pdf and downloaded that pdf. Then i went to Flipbook. uploaded my PDF version there and Flipbook did the rest. That's how my final flipbook looks like. I then downloaded the Flipbook in my Pc to upload it on website.

Creative Writing : Final work

Image
After writing the whole story on word document, i started editing the text of the story and adding the elements and parts of the story i wanted to. I then changed the size and format of the particular texts i wanted to. Then i added some non copyright pictures to the text. I found those pics on unsplash and istock websites, finding the resemblance according to the text. To add the cover page for the book i have had left first page of this word document empty, so i added the cover age on the first page. Then i proof read my whole story for grammatical or spelling errors or to check if any bit is missing. Then next part was to make a flipbook which i will describe on my next blog.

Free Project: Creative writing

For my free project, initially i was planning to make a podcast video but due to lack of time and editing skills i decided to write a short-story. So i would be doing the creative writing project now. Although, the topic would remain same because i had already done a lot of research on the topic. The topic will be related to Fear. Although i have not decided the title of the story yet. The story will include overcoming fear, dealing with it or something related to that. The reason to finalize this topic is simple, i see people going through this phase in everyday life. So watching people go through this feeling, motivated me to writing a short story how to cope with it.

Urban Landscape Project: Website finalising

Image
To upload my final images on my website, i added new page in my gallery named Urban Landscape. Then from add elements i selected a gallery, a slider one for all my final photos. Its because slider gallery squeezes itself according to the size of photo user puts in it.   After adding the gallery i gave it a title and an introduction about my project, like where the photos are clicked and other major details. After that i added my final photos in that gallery which were saved on my desktop. Then i typed a title and detail about every single photo of mine one by one for the audience, so they can understand more about the photo. After finalising all of it i saved it and looked in preview. That's how preview looks like

Website Quality Checks and Enhancement Features

Image
So at first there was a lot of part which was missing from my website for SEO. i started working on it  At the end it was 5 out of 7 because the last two parts are about the premium for which you have to pay for and I am definitely not doing it, at least for now. I also changed my About me a little, especially i added whole new text to my progression route paragraph as I've changed it this term so i typed a new paragraph for my new progression route. This is how my about me page looks like now,

Creative Writing: Final research

As the last part of my research, as i already had done a lot of short stories i wanted to read a proper story written by a professional writer so i decided to go for a very famous novel in my native language, translations of which are unfortunately not available on the internet, named " GHAZI " which in english means "war veteran". Its a written Bibliography of Abu Shuja Abu Waqar. It is a story of a commando mission of Abu Shuja Abu Waqar (Syed Saleem Abbas) Ex-spy of Pakistan army intelligence. The author of the book Ghazi Novel was a civilian and worked in the Tarbella company. On the Dhaka fall and situation, after that had created, he decided to join an intelligence agency voluntarily.  The whole story is quite long and in detail but the part which will help me most in my writing is the one he spent in jail and how he escaped. As it is a novel and everything is discussed from a to z which i won't be able to do so but the whole story in general was very hel

Creative Writing: Further work

Image
So, after making the guidelines and rough graph on a paper, i started writing it on a word document. My story starts from a person already in jail but i feel like i am going to introduce character a little more which i felt was missing from another essay while my research and also to create that relation between the character and the audience. So maybe this will not remain the beginning of the story later on but for now i am writing what ever ideas comes to my mind as i will arrange them later on according to the way i like my story to be.

Creative Writing: Further Research

Image
As i further continued my research I found another interesting short story named Doing Time Inside. Its written by Pretheesh Presannan. Its also a story about an innocent victim spending his time in prison. I didnt find the beginning of the story that impressive as it was the written in the same old plot of person being in the wrong place at wrong time and also there was no detail work on what kind of crime did victim committed. But the part where he starts living his life in the cell was quite amazingly explained. What they go through and what kind of difficulties a person might deal with living in the cell especially knowing that he didn't do anything to be here and he/she doesn't deserve it. The story helped me a lot with how to explain the cell time period in my story and how to make it feel real for my audience. And especially this part where he tells how does the character cope with his feelings and depression after being in the outside world after the whole experience. I

CREATIVE WRITING : INITIAL WORK

Image
To start my story, I initially made a graph of bullet points on a rough register to help me write the story later on. I started by deciding the character's names and then the plot. I also added minor detail to boost my thought process while writing the story. For now, it's just a rough graph in which I will do a lot of changes most probably as with more time I will have more ideas and will change the direction of the story accordingly.

Creative Writing: Initial research

Image
To write a good story, especially in academic studies it is very important to make sure that a person is writing by following all the important academic rules. Moreover it also helps to improve the audience response and to enhance your writing skills which will be beneficial for an individual later on in professional times. As my topic was about innocent people suffering in jail and how they try to escape and all so i researched both fictional and non-fictional stories about the people falsely accused for crimes and have spent time in prisons. Out of many the one i liked was Innocent Prisoner , a short-story by Lizzy Henderson which is published on Booksie officially. I read the whole story but the part which was the most impressive for me was the starting paragraph, the use of metaphors and sarcastic sentences were very helpful for me to learn how should i use them while writing my own essay. I personally didn't like the ending of the story as there was no proper ending to the

Creative Writing: Initial Ideas and Title generation

Image
So, for creative writing task we were suppose to write a story and make a book of it. It took me few days to decide the topic about which i am going to write. Then after a while i thought of a topic i was watching trending on social media for quite a long time about Tate brothers. How they are in jail for few months without any charges being filed against them and them being proven guilty just because they were about to reveal a lot of truths to the world. Anyways, this whole survey helped me a lot with what my story is going to be about. So i am gonna write about the people who are innocent and how much pain and suffering they go through in jail and how they try to escape and other stuff about it. So for this topic i am going to research some real stories and books on this topic to know more about how the language and different techniques are used to write a good story to create a good impact of the story on the audience. The title of my story which will appear on the cover page will

The Chapbook: Planning

Image
What is your final idea? Please explain in two sentences the theme and the form your writing will take. I will be most probably creating a BOOK of a story with theme related to crime, jail and innocent people suffering inside the jails just because they start revealing the truths against governments. Considering the form, how do you intend to layout your book pages? I will be using text mostly with few images as well. How many pages do you expect there will be? Depends on the story but round about 15 to 20. Are you going to use images? Are these your own images (illustrations/photographs) or copyright free images that you will source? Yes, a mixture of my own and copyright free images. What is the plan of your time and how much you will need to spend on this ? As writing is something that requires time and concentration without disturbance. I will spend  5 hours for 5 days to complete my story. What do you imagine the final book will look like? I imagine it to be book of quality in

Urban Landscape: Quality Improvement

Image
After finishing urban photography in class the next step is to  modify the quality of those images. To begin with i looked at the photographs i i thought required some editing then i opened them on Adobe Photoshop to apply different editing tools. I sharpen the background where it was required, blur the unnecessary stuff and thing like that. Just a simple example is given below So this was the photo i clicked but due to way too much light or maybe wrong camera settings at that point the sky looked terrible to me, but i really wanted to keep the pic of the tree so i tried adding a little darkening effect and it turned up quite amazing. This is the final result of the Quality improvement i did. I did the same for some other photographs as well which i thought requires editing or some kind of improvement.

Tokyo Compression: Michael Wolf Research

Image
As we have been studying about photography in the class, one of the photographer we looked at was Michael Wolf. The photo i choose to discuss is named  Tokyo Compression #75, 2009   on his website.                                                                                                                                  Michael Wolf Photography I like this photo for a lot of reasons, especially every single detail mentioned in the pic is telling a whole story itself. The mask in the photo tells the pic is taken after COVID-19 being introduced as a virus. While researching i also got to know that total population of Tokyo is 13.96 Million up till 2021, which means local buses and trains are supposed to be crowded specially in office timings. Looking at this photo also makes an individual realize how difficult it is for the working community to go through all of this scenario on daily basis. Man in the pic looks half dead just because of the lack of space for people to fit in, look

Urban Landscape: Cultural Quarter

Image
After the photography session with the theme of traces, we moved on to do urban landscape photography, for that we visited Cultural Quarter in Leicester. I used the same SONY camera with manual settings at  ISO 100, f/2.8, and 1/10. I took almost 82 pics, here are the contact sheets of those photos. The images i took were both in color and black and white as well. They were in landscape and portrait both. Although i tried my best to click best photos but still some of them will require editing which i will do on photoshop.

TRACES : Class Task

Image
In this post i will talk about the photography session we had in class, in which we learned how to use camera settings and functions. After that we were given an hour to practice our photography within the uni boundaries. I used my SONY camera with manual settings at  ISO 100, f/2.8, and 1/10.. The first few photographs however are photographs of me, taken with my friend's SONY camera with auto settings. Here is the contact sheet of the photos i took. I chose few photos out of them as my final photos as they were the best ones as per my knowledge. This is my final contact sheet with final photos REFLECTION: Considering the fact i've never done professional photography before , i was quite happy about the images i clicked. I also enjoyed these black and white shots a lot. I've  also learned a lot about camera settings as well and the mistakes i made during the session.

PROMOTING MYSELF TO EMPLOYERS: Target Market Game Developers

Image
As a research for the project ive looked into my target market. As ive advertised my self a s a game developer therefore i am looking for the employers of some gaming company. The first job i looked into was from RIOT platform. As they have been in to gaming industry for quite a long time. Although, they werent planning to make any more new games in which i could have participated , but keeping in mind that games which are already being played by millions of users on daily basis require a lot of updates, bug removals and stuff like that. Looking into the job criteria set by them i realised that most of the criteria perfectly matches my skills.Their was a long job description including some of the rules and restrictions an individual have to follow while creating and updating any department of game. I won't discuss the whole description over here but i would like to share the criteria list due to which i decided to look into this one. 1) Creativity     Though i've never been in

BITEABLE VIDEO PROCESS

Image
In the first week of the term, we were working on biteable video with aim of promoting ourselves online to employers according to our fields. As i was interested in the role of Game developer i began by opening biteable.com. Then going to templates and choosing a template of my own choice named "Corporate Jobseeker Video Resume". After that I started editing the text which can simply be done by clicking on the text or changing the wording on the slide.  I also changed background by selecting replace background option and added animation as well around the main picture of mine, which was there as an introduction. Then i provided some valid reasons why should any one hire me for this job in the next 4 slides. I also added video stickers on each slide by clicking on advanced editor to make them look more attractive and efficient, according to text. As I was comfortable with the default music therefore i didn't changed it. After finalizing all the slides i published the video
